Wapsi Turkey Biots
Wapsi Turkey Biots are loose, dyed biots from turkey feathers. Their narrow, compact form builds slim bodies with clear, even segmentation. Use them for bodies on spinners, dry flies, nymphs and emergers. Biot width gives the tier good control over each wrap, while moderate thread tension maintains an even profile without adding unnecessary bulk. The colour range helps match fly patterns to the insects being imitated.
Construction and use
Select a biot by colour, usable width and the size of the fly. Even the tip before tying in and position the material with the working side correctly oriented. Controlled wraps produce clean segments, while excessive tension can alter their shape or spacing. The narrow profile is particularly useful when the finished body needs a slim silhouette.
