Wapsi Thin Fly Foam 2 Mm

Wapsi Thin Fly Foam 2 mm is tough, supple sheet foam in the exact stated 2 mm thickness. It is intended for cutting and shaping fly components such as ants, beetles, hoppers, backs and layered bodies. The material provides a defined profile while remaining manageable during tying, making it suitable for a range of small and medium constructions.

Construction and use

Cut strips, wings or prepared shapes from the sheet with sharp scissors, a knife, punch or matching cutter. The 2 mm thickness provides more buoyant foam and a fuller profile than thinner sheet, although the flotation of a complete fly also depends on the hook, eyes and other materials. Secure components with broad, even thread wraps; a thread base or compatible adhesive can stabilise a layered section when useful.
