Wapsi Polypropylene Floating Yarn
Wapsi Polypropylene Floating Yarn is polypropylene yarn made from parallel synthetic fibres and supplied in packs of approximately 15 feet. It can be tied as spent spinner wings, a parachute post, a grasshopper body or a Poly Dun-style fly. The bundle size is easy to adjust for the hook and pattern, with the final silhouette established by trimming after the material is secured.
Construction and use
Separate a small amount from the hank, align the fibres and secure them with firm but controlled thread wraps. For spent wings, divide the material into two even sections and check their symmetry before trimming. For a parachute post, build an upright support around which the hackle will be wound. A narrower section can be wrapped along the hook shank to form a body. Its fibres support flotation, while the hook, thread and other dressing materials also influence the complete fly.

- Pack length: approximately 15 feet.
- Wing preparation: choose an even bundle, align it and trim it after tying.
