Wapsi Bucktail Assorted
Wapsi Bucktail Assorted is a mixed selection of deer-tail hair for streamer wings, tails and supporting layers. Bucktail has relatively long, stable fibres that flare less under thread than hollow deer hair, allowing the tier to build narrow, controlled bundles and layered profiles.
Construction and use
Before tying, separate the guard hair from the shorter underfur and remove loose fibres. Even the tips in a hair stacker, then secure the bundle with firm, progressively tightened thread wraps. The assorted selection is useful when combining different hair lengths and shades in streamers, pike flies and larger patterns.
