UTC Antron Yarn
UTC Antron Yarn is a multi-fibre yarn made from trilobal filaments gathered into a single strand. Its bright highlights add a visible accent without requiring the tier to work with individual fibres. It can be used for parachute posts, overbodies, legs, tails and trailing shucks, as well as for yarn-built fly bodies.
Construction and use
The amount of yarn selected determines whether the finished detail is slim or fuller. Secure it in a loop, as a measured length, or wind it as a strand around the hook. When forming a body, distribute the fibres evenly; for a parachute post or shuck, collect them into a controlled bundle before tightening the thread.
- Construction: a single strand containing multiple trilobal filaments.
- Visual effect: bright highlights in selected fly details.
- Uses: parachutes, overbodies, legs, tails and trailing shucks.
- Handling tip: match the amount of yarn to the size of the detail so its outline stays clean.
