Stonfo Lure Snaps

Stonfo Lure Snaps are compact connectors designed for changing flies and lures without tying a fresh knot each time. They help preserve the length of the leader or dropper when switching patterns, sizes or colours, making them useful when frequent changes are part of the fishing approach.

Made from high-strength stainless steel, the snaps are offered in three sizes, each identified by a kilogram rating and a suggested hook-size range: 5 kg for hooks 14–8, 8 kg for hooks 6–1 and 14 kg for hooks 1/0–6/0. Select the size with regard to the hook eye, the overall scale of the fly or lure and the requirements of the rig.

The snap is tied to the end of the leader, after which the fly or lure can be fitted and removed without retying. Once attached, check that the connector is seated correctly and that its size allows the chosen pattern to move as intended.
