Design and use

The wide gape allows a fuller body to be dressed without covering the point, which suits wet flies and nymph imitations with more material. The offset bend changes the position of the point in relation to the body, while the medium-weight wire gives the hook a stronger proportion than a fine dry-fly hook. It can also be selected for larger dry flies when a wider construction is wanted.
