Partridge K5AY Grub Heavy Fly Hooks

Partridge K5AY Grub Heavy is a barbless heavy-wire hook for deep-sinking patterns including grubs, shrimp, scuds and sowbugs. It is intended for flies with a compact body that need to move down through the water efficiently.

Design and use

The heavy wire contributes to the finished fly’s weight and supports patterns prepared for deeper presentation. During tying, keep working room around the eye and bend so materials do not cover the point or distort the silhouette. The barbless form makes unhooking easier, while a steady line tension is needed during the fight. The hook can also be used for buzzers and related patterns.
