FFGene Tungsten Metallic Rings
FFGene Tungsten Metalic Rings are tungsten rings fitted directly behind a fly’s main bead to add weight without noticeably enlarging the bead or changing the front profile. The metallic finish is a visible part of the construction.
Construction and use
Place the ring on the shank immediately behind the main bead, before forming or finishing the remaining part of the fly. Match its diameter to the shank and bead, checking that it seats freely and that tying materials are not forced against a sharp edge. Tungsten adds compact ballast and can support a faster descent without requiring a larger bead. Before tying, also check that the ring will not restrict material movement or slide on the hook.
- Form: metallic tungsten ring for fitting behind the main bead.
- Function: extra weight while keeping the front of the fly compact.
- Mounting: slide it onto the shank and position it directly behind the bead.
- Selection: check the diameter against the shank, bead and materials of the selected pattern.
