FFGene Tungsten Furrow Beads

FFGene Tungsten Furrow Beads are profiled tungsten beads with a central hole, made for weighting nymphs and other flies tied with a bead at the head. Tungsten provides compact ballast, while the furrowed profile gives the bead a defined surface structure.

Construction and use

The central hole is intended for conventional mounting: slide the bead over the hook eye before starting the dressing. Select the diameter in relation to the hook size, fly profile and eye, and check that the hole passes over the eye without excessive play and does not bind on the shank or bend. Tungsten helps take the fly down quickly, although the result also depends on the complete pattern and rig.
