FFGene Tungsten Caddis Heads
FFGene Tungsten Caddis Heads are profiled tungsten heads with eyes for tying caddis imitations. Their shape helps form the compact front of the pattern, while the tungsten adds the weight needed when fishing the imitation through the water column or close to the bottom.
Construction and use
The profiled head serves as both a structural element of the imitation and its ballast. Choose a size in relation to the hook and planned body volume so the caddis profile remains balanced. Before starting the fly, check that the head passes over the eye and bend of the selected hook. After seating it, form a firm thread transition behind the head and build the body materials to follow its profile.
- Construction: profiled tungsten head for caddis patterns.
- Detail: integrated eyes complete the imitation’s silhouette.
- Ballast: tungsten concentrates weight at the front of the fly.
- Selection: match the size to the hook and body volume, checking clearance first.
