FFGene India Hen Saddles
FFGene India Hen Saddles are hen saddles with long, dense and soft feathers for mobile fly constructions. They are especially useful for Matuka patterns, as well as wet flies and streamers. The feathers form sides, wings and soft hackles. Their delicate barbs respond to current and retrieve while preserving the fly’s volume and natural movement in water. A saddle generally offers longer feathers concentrated in fewer sizes than a cape, making it suitable for extended, repeatable components. Match the feather length to the intended width and silhouette of the fly.
Construction and use
The soft feathers help create natural movement in Matukas, wet flies and streamers. Use them for hackles or for building sides and wings. Adjust the amount of barbs to the pattern to preserve mobility. Select the colour according to the fly’s silhouette and size.
