FFGene 4.5 in. Spring Scissors
FFGene 4.5 in. Spring Scissors are 4.5-inch (approximately 11.4 cm) fly-tying scissors built with spring-action arms rather than conventional finger loops. Releasing pressure allows the arms to reopen the blades, so successive cuts are made by lightly squeezing the tool. The slim construction is easy to hold close to the vise, while textured gripping sections give the fingers clearly defined contact points.
The straight blades end in narrow, pointed tips. This geometry provides access to thread and projecting fibres beside a fly’s body or head without obscuring the entire cutting area. The scissors are intended primarily for delicate finishing work and trimming small amounts of material. Their spring action reduces the need to reposition the fingers between cuts, making a sequence of short adjustments at the tying bench more convenient.
