Angora Rabbit Yarn
Wapsi Angora Rabbit Yarn is a continuous, soft and fuzzy fly-tying yarn for forming fly bodies. Its fibrous surface builds a full, softly textured profile and is used in patterns such as Sucker Spawn. The yarn can be worked as a compact body material or allowed to retain a fuller texture.
Construction and use
Prepare the yarn by separating or twisting it to suit the body profile required. Tie in the end on the hook shank, then wind it in adjacent turns while controlling tension and the amount of material in each wrap. Closer, firmer turns produce a more compact body, while a lighter handling preserves more of the yarn’s fuzzy surface. Angora Rabbit Yarn can also form simple fibrous sections of a fly when a soft texture is wanted without adding a separate construction material.
- Form: continuous, fuzzy yarn for tying in and winding.
- Finish: soft, fibrous surface with no stated optical effect.
- Uses: fly bodies and Sucker Spawn patterns.
- Handling: body fullness can be adjusted by separating, twisting and winding the yarn.
